Hunters are a popular class. This might be because at level 10 a hunter gets the skill to tame beasts and can keep them as pets. Also keeping your pets skills up to date is almost like another set of quests. Or it could be because once you have your pet you are never alone. Some like the challenge of finding that special pet.
