In UT classic, the best way to start the game is in the practice mode. Practice some of the tournament maps, and learn how to fight.

Weapons

These are UT Classic's standard weapons:

  • Impact hammer A piston-powered melee weapon, sneak up behind your opponents for a one-hit frag
  • Chainsaw In Multiplayer or Practice, if the Chainsaw Melee modifier is set, the Impact Hammer is replaced by an rusty, blood-covered chainsaw. The disadvantage to the Chainsaw is that it's noisy, and enemies here you coming.
  • Enforcer The starter ranged weapon. Instant reload, and can be dual-wielded. Does 10 damage. Pri. Fire: Rapid low-accuracy fire Sec. Fire: High-accuracy, but slower fire rate
  • Flak Cannon the favourite of most players, the FC fires molten metal in a wide arc, and is very painful if it hits you. Pri. Fire: Molten metal sprays in a wide arc Sec. Fire: Big orange ball of molten metal. Ouch.
  • Sniper With a scope and the ability to make headshots, this is the weapon of choice for campers. Sec. Fire button aims.
  • Plasma rifle Fires blobs of scorching plasma at an enemy. If Volatile ammo is on, when this hits an ammo box, run. And don't look back. Pri. Fire: Blobs of plasma Sec. Fire: Big laser beam. Can be used like an extra long, extra nasty light sabre.
  • GES bio-rifle Files lumps of sludge at enemies. Look out! No Sec. Fire
  • Rocker launcher Name says it all. Pri. Fire: 1-6 Rockets (Hold fire for more) Sec. Fire: Same as Pri. Fire, but grenades instead of rockets
  • Shock Rifle Fires a high-speed bolt of Laser at your opponents. Pri. Fire: Bolt of Laser Sec. Fire: Big, slow energy ball
  • Redeemer The King. Anyone hear "Nuclear?" Pri.: Big, nuke missile Sec.: Aimable, but slow. Can be shot down.
