Cloud crash-lands and goes blank. This leads to more confused dreams. As he comes to, you find yourself in a church. The flower girl from the slums, Aeris, is here tending to her flowers. Talk with her about whatever until someone appears from outside. This is Reno, one of the Turks, who has come with a couple of Shinra soldiers to grab Aeris. Naturally, Aeris doesn't really want to be captured; so you get a new gig as a bodyguard. Run out the back way.
The climb is pretty easy. Just jump across to the stairs and go up. Jump over the gap and... Aeris falls. Great. She hits the bottom and the Shinra soldiers start coming for her. She yells to you for help. You're obviously not anywhere close to her; so you gotta improvise. Go up the steps to the barrels sitting on the wooden beams. When she calls to you, you have three options: Wait, Fight or Run. If you tell her to fight, she goes against the soldiers alone. Some of them can be fairly strong and Aeris has no materia and a weak weapon attack. If you tell her to run, you'll just have to fight them when she doesn't have anymore room to run. If you tell her to wait, you can just push a barrel on top of the soldiers. This is the way to go but keep in mind: if you push the wrong one, you have to fight anyway and if you push the wrong barrel every time, you may lose the chance to date her later on..
To escape the fights, push the barrels in the following order:
- First, push the leftmost barrel.
- Next push the one in the back.
- Lastly, knock over the one on the right.
After all this, Aeris finally reaches you and you can proceed with your escape. You can exit the church via the hole in the right side.
Aeris' house
You escape across the rooftops. When you get back on the ground, head left (there's a save point near here too) and up. Talk to the folks in the slums. There's a weird person with a weird tattoo in the pipe. There's a Materia and weapons store where you can get Titan Bangles which may help things a little bit. Head left from the market area to get to Aeris' house.
If you go over to the garden on the side of the house, there is an Elixir and a Cover materia. After you retrieve them, head inside. It's a good idea to stay overnight, except that Elmyra wants you to leave before Aeris notices a thing. In the room prepared for Cloud, there's a Potion and a Phoenix Down. Don't run when you leave or Aeris will hear you and send you back to the room. Head through the slums and take a left at the intersection.
Aeris is here after all and she wants to tag along. Head through the maze in the next room, watching out for Hell Houses, and you'll arrive at the Sector 7 gate. Aeris stops by the playground, and just as you start to relax, a Chocobo cart comes from Sector 7, with a familiar barmaid aboard. You'll then follow her into Wall Market.
Wall Market
As you walk around and ask people things, you'll soon find out that Tifa has become a candidate for inclusion to the Honeybee Manor, and new inductees have to be personally checked by someone called Don Corneo. Corneo's manor is fairly easy to find, all the way up the path to the north. The problem is, the guy on the door will only let women in. Aeris is the only woman around, and Cloud just cannot let a frail maiden like Aeris, despite her helpfulness and willingness to take risks, be sinfully savaged by these villains. Luckily, Aeris has a wonderful idea to dress Cloud up as a girl.
Your next objective is to get all the items to pass as a female. You're only required to have a dress and a wig, but the more you get the better your disguise will be, and different things happen in the mansion depending on how well dressed you are.
The dress
If you talk to the clothing store clerk, she says that her father does the clothes designing, and he's lounging in the bar without any inspiration whatsoever. Talk to him and convince him to make a dress for Cloud. He accepts the challenge, then tells you to scurry off. The best dress is the Silk Dress. Here are the optiosn:
- Soft and Shiny = Satin Dress
- Soft and Shimmer = Silk Dress
- Clean and (Shiny or Shimmers) = Cotton Dress
The wig
You'll get this by going to the gym and entering the squatting competition, which you can win or lose. After you have the wig, return to the clothing store and head up to the Corneo Mansion. The best possible wig is the Blonde Wig.
- Win = Blonde Wig
- Tie = Dyed Wig
- Lose = Wig
The cologne
In the bar, there's a woman in the bathroom who's having severe digestion problems. Go to the restaurant, get any of the meals, and you'll get a pharmacy coupon. Head to the pharmacy and exchange the ticket for a digestive medicine, a disinfectant or deodorant. Take whichever one you've chosen back to the bar, and the woman will give you a cologne. The best one is the Sexy Colgne.
- Digestive Medicine = Sexy Cologne
- Disinfectant = Cologne
- Deodorant = Flower Cologne
The tiara
Go up the rightmost path on the lower screen, past the man with the big cooking pot. The man in the store wants to know what's in the inn's vending machine, but can't check it out himself because he's been banned. Go to the inn and pay for the night. Get one of the items from the vending machine and take it back to the man. Depending on which item you purchased, he'll give you a different tiara. The best one is the Diamond Tiara.
- 200 Gil Item = Diamond Tiara
- 100 Gil Item = Ruby Tiara
- 50 Gil Item = Glass Tiara
The underwear
Talk to the indecisive man pacing on the lowermost Wall Market. At one point, he'll can't make up his mind and will give his Membership Card to the Honeybee Manor. Take some peeks into the occupied rooms, and look around with 
and 
. You'll get a glimpse of foreshadowing with President Shin-Ra, and also get your first peek at Cait Sith. Before leaving, get the Makeup from one of the girls. Most importantly, by poking around here, you'll get the best accessory, Lingerie.

Corneo's Mansion
Head all the up the path to Corneo's place and the guard outside will let you and Aeris in. Head upstairs and through the open door, where you'll meet Tifa again, who explains what's going on. After some discussion, Corneo's lackey comes and asks you to show up in his room.
Corneo will pick one of the three girls depending on what items Cloud has dressed up in. If Corneo picks Tifa or Aeris, Cloud ends up in a room with some drooling men. He takes off the dress, and they attack you. There's a Phoenix Down in the room too. If Corneo picks Cloud (and you need the above items to do this), the whole thing is a little bit shorter. Remember to steal the Phoenix Down in the lackies' room if Cloud isn't selected, as well as the Hyper behind Corneo's bed.
- Tifa will be selected if you have just the basic items (Dress, Wig), or if you have the worst possible items that you can get (Glass Tiara, Cologne, etc.).
- Aeris will be selected if you have the moderately good items (Ruby Tiara, Dyed Wig, Flower Cologne, etc.).
- Cloud will be selected if you have the best possible items (Diamond Tiara, Blonde Wig, Sexy Cologne, etc.).
If Cloud isn't chosen, choose "Lets Get Aeris" if you want Cloud to be able to date her later on. Either way, Cloud, Aeris and Tifa get to intimidate Corneo, and learn of a terrifying plan to destroy Sector 7. Just as you're about to leave, he keeps talking to stall while his trap gets set up correctly, then sends the heroes down to the sewers with a flick of a switch.
