Virtual Magic Kingdom was a free MMOG run by The Walt Disney Company. It was a virtual representation of the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom theme parks, and contains areas and games which are based on real park attractions.
On April 7, 2008, it was announced that VMK would close on May 21, 2008 because VMK was meant as a limited-time promotion for the Disneyland 50th Anniversary Celebration. The game closed on May 21 as planned, but the website currently remains operational to inform visitors of the game's closure.
