Deluxe Pac-Man is an action game that was released by Edgar M. Vigdal for the Commodore Amiga in 1992 only in Norway; as the name suggests, it stars Namco's signature character Pac-Man, and in the spirit of his early official titles, the player has to direct him around several two-dimensional mazes while avoiding four ghosts (in the original ECS & OCS version, the ghosts are Blinky, Clyde, Sue and Funky, but in the later AGA version for the A1200 from 1995, Clyde's replaced by Inky). In addition to having several types of regular bonus items which appear beneath the ghosts' regenerator, there are also several types of special bonus items that can give Pac-Man an extra life, kick him into overdrive, give him a shield, slow down and freeze the ghosts, make the ghosts explode, multiply points scored by two and five, change the pellets into diamonds, increase the point value for the pellets, extend the duration of the special bonus items' effects, transport Pac-Man to an extra or random maze and give him the power to shoot the ghosts - and after clearing a maze, a picture of a sweating, drooling Pac-Man following a sign pointing to "More Action" will appear with the caption "And then..." in its top-left (however, if Pac-Man is killed by a ghost, a picture of him with a halo and wings will appear, with the caption "Oh No..." in its top-left). In 1997, Edgar M. Vigdal released the game into the public domain with a registration key in his name, possibly as a result of potentially violating Namco's copyright, as he and other Amiga software dealers had been ordered to remove it for purchase off their websites.
