The world of Ivalice is filled with a diverse number of people, categorised by their race. These races, Human, Bangaa, Nu Mou, Viera, and Moogle, all have their strengths and weaknesses in Ivalice. Only mastery of what these races are capable of will allow you to succeed in your quest.
Human[edit]
Humans are the most common race in Ivalice. Their stats are fairly well-rounded, and they have the widest variety of jobs available to them (more on that later). Your main character, by default named Marche, belongs to this race.
Bangaa[edit]
The Bangaa are a fierce and brave race. Their appearance resembles that of a lizard, but they do not like to be called that. The Bangaa's jobs characteristically are based off of strength, and therefore, the Bangaa are naturally very strong and durable.
Nu Mou[edit]
The Nu Mou are considered to be the most magical race in Ivalice. Their magic attack and defense are unparalleled by any other race, and their jobs reflect that. The Nu Mou also have the ability to control monsters as well as use both offensive and defensive magic in battle.
Viera[edit]
The Viera are a beautiful and proud female-only race. Their slender shape allows them to have a higher speed and evasion. The jobs Viera hold focus on speed, spirituality, and stealth.
Moogle[edit]
Moogles are present in nearly every Final Fantasy game produced to this date. In Ivalice, the Moogles are small and mischievous. Moogles have a high weapon defense and magic resistance, but their attack and HP are low. Because of this, they are best suited for long-range combat.
