Shogi (将棋?) is a Japanese board game simulation developed and published by Pony Canyon for the Game Boy near the end of 1989 exclusively in Japan. It was the third Game Boy release that was not published outside Japan, after Yakuman and Pachinko Time. Shogi is considered the Japanese analog to Chess.

It offers single player and multiplayer games, and you can select which player goes first. An additional mode presents with you mid-game board configurations that you must attempt to overcome and win. In this mode, you can undo moves and try different strategies if your initial attempts do not work.
